How do you improve on excellence? What’s the driver to keep on improving? It’s a good question.

Take tennis player Roger Federer, for example. The 37-year-old Swiss player, a veteran of 19 years in the sport, has just taken his 100th title.

At that age – with younger players continually challenging him – and with so much success already, what motivates Federer to be so brilliant? It’s something those pretenders to his many crowns would like to know.

And what about racing driver Lewis Hamilton? Last season he hung in to mentally break his title rivals and take his fifth World Championship title. His desire for more silverware shows no sign of diminishing, either.

What about the automotive world? Let’s take a look at Land Rover, a brand under siege on so many fronts at the moment. But the dealers are exceptional ambassadors of the 4×4 specialist: for the second successive year, Land Rover has finished top of the important J.D. Power 2018 UK Customer Service Index (CSI) Study.

More than that, the brand made a 16-point improvement on its 2017 performance. That’s truly impressive.

We work with many dealer groups to deliver vehicles to our customers – and we wouldn’t partner with them if they didn’t have the highest standards or service.

But we have to deliver on service, too. And like Federer, like Hamilton, we always want to be better. I’ll put my hand up to say Fleet Alliance is one of the best in the business. Not because I say so.

Because of what drivers and customers say.

Because of what the Fleet Alliance staff do to ensure that the service they provide to customers is always first rate. They work exceptionally hard to make sure the service is effortless. Every time. Again. And again. And again.

So it’s a big congratulations to all my staff for enabling Fleet Alliance to win a customer satisfaction service award of its own: the Fleeteye CSi Award – for the leasing provider offering the best service to its customers (fleet size up to 250).

It’s the fourth time in five years that the staff here at Fleet Alliance have enabled us to win the award. And it’s judged purely on feedback from our customers. We do not ‘enter’ the awards – they are judged in secret based purely on customer feedback.

So thank you for rating us so highly. Thank you to the Fleet Alliance staff for such impeccable standards.

Rest assured we shall continue to make sure we excel in providing vehicles on finance with a quality service that cannot be beaten. Because excellence is hard-won.

Because who wouldn’t want to be the Federer of the leasing world?

Excellence is hard won

How do we know the growth in PCH is from company car drivers?

A bit of scene-setting first before I hit the afterburners. Because this has been aggravating me for some time. Personal contract hire – or PCH – has seen a surge in growth over the last few years. And this is to be welcomed. According to figures from the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association (BVRLA), … Continued

When cars meet electronics – it’s showtime!

Over the air updates to increase performance? Or, perhaps, to provide new features? Nowhere has car-met-tech so obviously as in the Tesla Model S. Little wonder it is often referred to as a computer on wheels. Certainly, much of Tesla’s appeal and elegance is down to its seamless integration of electronics within the car’s overall … Continued

19 points facing fleet in 2019

As we step into the brave new world of 2019, I thought a fleet almanac of sorts might be in order. So, to greet 2019, here are 19 issues or products that will be facing fleet this year. So let’s go. And in no particular order… 1. Leasing becomes more attractive. Why? From the new tax … Continued

Why company cars are good for the environment

OK, so this might sound slightly contradictory; after all, how can company cars – any sort of car – be good for the environment? Good point. They are instruments of pollution. No? Well, yes of course, to a point. But we all need them to live life, make sure business happens and so on. Private … Continued

Brown’s Budget wishlist

The Chancellor’s Budget. On a Monday? The Chancellor knows how to get the week off to a cheery start, doesn’t he? So, what would I like to see? Well, there are several things that need fixing individually. But the overarching wish on my list is this. Consistency. Consistency in the Government’s approach to fleets, fleet … Continued
