There’s seemingly no stopping the flow of new electric cars (EVs), as a greater variety of models, new entrants continue to flood the market.
But that’s good news for company car drivers and salary sacrifice drivers: the attractive low levels of benefit in kind tax continues to make them attractive choices.
With zero tailpipe emissions they sit in the lowest benefit in kind tax band – for the 2026/27 tax year that’s just 4% of the P11D cost.

The new BMW iX3 is a direct replacement for a core premium family SUV, it is designed around long distance usability with a big step up in charging speed and cabin technology. It should sit right in the centre of premium fleet demand. BMW is promising strong performance and very rapid charging, with a headline range aimed at removing range anxiety for higher mileage drivers. It is one of the clearest must watch launches for 2026.

Maximum range: up to 500 miles.
Volkswagen is reinventing the Polo as an electric hatch. We think the Polo is one of the most important mainstream badge launches of the year. It should be sized and priced for mass adoption making it essential for company car choice lists. It is expected to share its core setup with the Cupra Raval, with a strong focus on everyday usability and a future GTI version. For salary sacrifice it could become a default choice if pricing lands well.

The Raval is the sporty take on the new affordable small EV family from the wider group. It is designed to feel sharper and more performance led than its siblings. It should appeal to drivers who want a small car that still feels exciting, it could be a high demand salary sacrifice option if the monthly cost stays accessible.

Kia EV5 is an electric partner to the Sportage, it targets the heartland family SUV segment with huge appeal to company car drivers thanks to its practicalit. It is designed as an all-rounder rather than a specialist niche model. It comes with a clear blend of range and value, with pricing positioned to be competitive against established family SUV EVs. It looks set to be one of the most fleet relevant launches of the year.
On sale and price: 2026, starting price just under £40,000.
Maximum range: up to 329 miles.
The Urban Cruiser is a compact SUV aimed at the mainstream, it sits in a very fleet friendly size class. It’s based on the Suzuki e-Vitara in a partner venture but features funky styling. For salary sacrifice it is a straightforward proposition, it has a recognisable brand, sensible running costs, and specifications that are easy to match to driver needs.
On sale and price: 2026, from £29,995 to £35,745.
Maximum range: 213 to 265 miles.
Customer deliveries of the new UK built Leaf are due to begin during Q1 2026. It is positioned as a practical family crossover for commuting and business miles, but comes with a real headline EV range: up to 386 miles thanks to its slippery shape and new technology. For fleets the big advantage is that it already has a clear starting price and a strong range claim, which makes it easier to place on policy lists than many upcoming models. It also qualifies for the full Electric Car Grant. In other words, there’s a lot going for the new Nissan Leaf.
On sale and price: early 2026 customer deliveries, starting price about £32,000.
Maximum range: up to 386 miles.
The new electric GLC targets the premium SUV segment directly, it is designed to challenge other long range premium electric SUVs with a strong headline range. It’s likely to be in strong demand for fleet drivers who want a premium SUV.
Add to that a range in excess of 400 miles and fast charging capability, it looks like Mercedes is really making a play for the fleet driver.
On sale and price: mid 2026 first deliveries, priced from about £60,000.
Maximum range: up to 406 miles.
The Renault design team is on a roll, and the new Twingo shows that it’s not run out of steam yet. The Twingo is designed to open EV ownership to more drivers, focusing on space efficiency in a small footprint and a low entry price. It is firmly a city first car. For salary sacrifice it matters because it targets a sub £20,000 starting point, combined with a range figure that suits shorter journeys and urban use.

The Epiq is Skoda’s smallest and cheapest EV yet, aimed at value focused drivers who still want a practical crossover format. It is positioned to compete in a crowded but high demand segment. It should be a strong salary sacrifice and fleet choice if the sub £25,000 price target holds, with a range figure that supports mixed use driving without pushing costs too high.

The Grande Panda finally reaches the UK in early 2026. A supermini designed to deliver character and practicality at an attainable price. It uses a simple proven layout aimed at everyday usability. With clear price guidance and a defined range figure, it is an easy model to position for drivers who want something smaller and cheaper than the typical family SUV EV. And also something with bags of character.
On sale and price: early 2026, from under £21,000 to just over £24,000.
Maximum range: about 199 miles.
The Spring gets meaningful upgrades for 2026, with more power, a new battery and improved charging, plus suspension changes aimed at making it feel a more confident drive. It remains the low cost EV entry point. For salary sacrifice it is the obvious budget gateway into electric driving, especially for drivers who mainly do short journeys and want the lowest monthly cost possible.

The Ioniq 3 is a Volkswagen I.D 3-sized hatchback aimed at drivers who want a practical and efficient EV without moving into a larger SUV. It should sit in the mainstream sweet spot for fleets. With a big battery option and a strong range claim, it could become a very strong company car choice if UK pricing stays competitive.

The D Max EV is a major commercial arrival, prioritising towing and payload in a segment where electric options have struggled. It is designed for business users who need capability not just image. The new Lexus ES arrives in spring and for the first time it includes a pure EV option, targeting the executive saloon market with a more luxurious and tech focused cabin. It offers a choice of two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. For fleets it is a credible alternative to the usual German executive cars, with power options and a stated range band that will suit business drivers.
