Today marks 30 years since Martin Brown began his career in vehicle leasing – coincidentally, on his 21st birthday.
After starting his career in the industry in 1996, Martin co-founded Fleet Alliance alongside Allen and Marjory Flynn in 2002. Since then, he has helped guide the business through more than two decades of growth and change, including its acquisition by Global Vehicle Group in 2025.
Martin has also contributed to the wider industry through his involvement with the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee and Committee of Management. In 2022, he received the Freddie Aldous Outstanding Contribution Award in recognition of his work within the sector.
While vehicle leasing has changed considerably over the past three decades, Martin’s approach has remained centred on people, strong relationships and doing the right thing for customers.
Reflecting on the milestone, Martin said:
“Thirty years have gone by pretty quickly. I’ve always joked that I don’t even like cars, but I’ve been lucky enough to work with some great people over the years.”
Congratulations to Martin on reaching this significant milestone.
