Rapidly-growing civil engineering specialist Foundation Solutions HV (FSHV) has introduced an electric car salary sacrifice scheme from Fleet Alliance to widen the choice of benefits for all employees.

Head-quartered In New Cumnock, East Ayrshire, FSHV is a multi-disciplined civil engineering contractor working within the renewable and traditional energy sector. Since inception in 2020, the company has provided innovative solutions for engineering and power transmission needs.

With around 80 highly skilled operatives across multiple UK sites, FSHV has brought in the Fleet Alliance salary sacrifice scheme to provide access to EVs for the first time under a corporate scheme.

With a wide choice of electric cars available, both new and used, models from Mercedes, Audi, Jaecoo, Peugeot, Renault, MG and Kia are amongst those selected by employees to date.

“The new EV salary sacrifice scheme is particularly advantageous from a tax viewpoint for our highly skilled employees,” explained Carol McPhee, Finance and Audit Manager.

“We have been very impressed since engaging Fleet Alliance to provide a salary sacrifice benefit for all our staff as they have been able to put together a scheme focused on electric cars that completely meets our needs.

“I attended an open day with a colleague at Fleet Alliance’s headquarters in Glasgow where they demonstrated all the benefits of an EV salary sacrifice scheme and had some electric demonstrators for us to try. This firmly convinced us to go ahead with the scheme,” she added.

FSHV Employees have been encouraged to participate in the scheme by regular scheme communications, providing information on scheme benefits, electric driving and EV technology, while word of mouth has led to rapid uptake amongst staff and early termination insurance, which is built into the monthly lease rates, has provided peace of mind.

Going forward, all the scheme cars will be managed through Fleet Alliance’s proprietary cloud-based fleet management and reporting platform, e-Fleet.

And drivers can use e-Fleet to research, compare and order their next electric vehicle directly, and can source vehicles specific to their current grade or salary bracket while checking specification, Benefit-in-Kind and whole life cost.

Fleet Alliance CEO, Andy Bruce, said that the Fleet Alliance EV salary sacrifice scheme is suitable for business of all sizes due to the advantageous tax incentives.

“As FSHV clearly demonstrates, our scheme is a great way to offer an electric car at no extra cost to employees of businesses of all sizes. It’s the perfect way of introducing a corporate car scheme for the first time and promote electric cars.

“Employees can save up to 60% on every electric car available when compared to an equivalently configured personal lease deal. And it really is a no-hassle way to enjoy the latest electric cars as all servicing, maintenance, tyre replacement and motor insurance is included as part of an all-inclusive package.

“And to keep rentals as lows as possible, we competitively tender every new car order to a panel of leading lenders which ensures FSHV employees enjoy the lowest possible cost,” he added.
