Our very own ‘Elephant Pump’ in Africa

Earlier this year we announced that as a result of our relationship and investment with AquAid Water Coolers and the Africa Trust we were given the opportunity to have our very own water pump installed on our behalf in Africa.

With each purchase at AquAid Water Coolers an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust. These funds are used to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ – a modified version of an age old Chinese rope pulley system.

Once built, the pump can provide safe drinking water for over 300 people and will remain in operation for decades to come.

One such pump has been installed on our behalf and is providing the community in Manicaland – a province in the north eastern highlands of Zimbabwe – with a much needed source of clean and fresh drinking water. We are delighted to see the Fleet Alliance name proudly displayed half way across the world.

Supporting those in need through our charitable, social and community efforts is at the forefront of everything we do as a business and sit at the heart of the Fleet Alliance Loves initiative. Over the last 10 years we we have supported a variety of amazing charities and raised over £454,000.

2018 marks the Africa Trust’s 18th year of operation. Donations have exceeded the £6 million mark and over 8,000 pumps have been built providing 2 million people throughout Liberia, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania and Zimbabwe with clean drinking water – an incredible achievement!

By using AquAid Water Coolers you help bring life-giving water to thousands of people every day. For more information on how you too can help, contact: info@aquaidwatercoolers.co.uk
