A rally to demonstrate the effectiveness of Scotland’s EV charging infrastructure will take place during COP26 (01-12 November 2021).
Called the EV Rally of Scotland – or EVROS – the rally will be for 16 EVs setting off from Glasgow for a five day 1200+ mile ‘e-Tour of Scotland’.
The route plans to take in many of the country’s most beautiful landmarks, but will also showcase the region’s charging infrastructure at the same time.
According to Zap-Map, Scotland ranks third for the greatest number of EV chargers by region after Greater London and the South-East.
The cars will stop at EV charging stations – designated as checkpoints – and the drivers will evidence the checkpoint has been reached by sharing pictures on social media.
The longest mileage will be day three – 317 miles – when the cars visit the Isle of Skye.
COP26, the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, takes place next to the Fleet Alliance offices at Glasgow’s SEC. Fleet Alliance supports the aims of COP26 to reverse climate change and encourage greater sustainability.
