Sustainability. It’s at the centre of what we do as a fleet mobility provider, whether that’s advising our clients on vehicle decarbonisation, or reviewing our business processes as part of our commitment to a transparent ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) agenda.
So the opportunity to progress our sustainability programme with a partner that was as fully committed to sustainability through the provision of renewable energy was simply not to be missed.
Say hello to Fleet Zero.
Fleet Zero is a partnership between ourselves and ScottishPower, an energy provider investing in renewable energy generation.
ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, one of the world’s largest integrated utility companies and a world leader in wind energy. They are the first integrated energy company in the UK to produce 100% green electricity and their focus is on wind energy, smart grids and driving the change to a cleaner, electric future.
So what’s the relevance to fleets? Fleet Zero is designed to provide a full EV solution for fleets, from the electric vehicles to the charging solutions. It is simple, efficient and convenient.
I’m very excited about it.
Here is an opportunity to advance sustainable practices with the right EVs and the right EV charging solutions.
ScottishPower provides both home chargers and workplace charging facilities. Since the majority of EV drivers charge at home (some 97% according to latest data) a home charger makes sense for company car drivers switching to an electric vehicle. It provides convenience and charging can be set to coincide with off-peak energy provision, or timed to charge up overnight so the car is ready for use the next day.
Workplace charging facilities also help fleets switch from fossil fuel cars to battery electric vehicles, allowing employees to top up battery charge should they require it. For commercial vehicle fleets with a return to base operational cycle, workplace chargers provide the required overnight charging for the vans. We can provide the electric vans; Scottish Power the EV chargers.
It’s a great solution all round for fleets. A partnership that is practical and efficient.
So let’s welcome in Fleet Zero: a partnership built on sustainability.
