We do the Salary Sacrifice thinking for Mortgage Brain

The people at Mortgage Brain spend all day working on mortgage technology to help intermediaries and lenders, so when they wanted a salary sacrifice scheme, Fleet Alliance was all too happy to do the thinking for them and come up with the goods.

Our award-winning electric car Salary Sacrifice scheme lets employers offer electric cars to employees on a lease as a tax-efficient benefit.

Instead of paying from net income, employees use a portion of their gross salary, which reduces the income tax and National Insurance payable. As a result, they can drive a cutting-edge electric car for much less than leasing privately, even with the minimal company car tax that is payable.

It’s just one of the many reasons why Fleet Alliance was recognised as the Best Fleet Management Company at the Business Car Awards 2025, and Fleet Alliance was voted Best SME Fleet Broker in the 2025 Broker News Awards.

Mortgage Brain begins Salary Sacrifice rollout

With four offices in England, Mortgage Brain has 29 eligible employees for the scheme and so far, nine of them have placed orders with Fleet Alliance’s scheme advisor Scott Russell.

“I have been nothing but impressed since engaging Fleet Alliance to provide the EV Salary Sacrifice benefit to our employees,” reports Chief Financial Officer Alastair Brown.

“From helping me understand the tax implications, configuring the set up and creating all launch comms and a launch event, they have supported us in being able to offer a very valuable benefit that has already seen nearly 10% of staff take it up.”

Alastair was a keen first mover on the scheme. The Brown family MINI wasn’t proving big enough for two growing boys, so Alastair opted for a shiny new Hyundai Ionic 5. Well, strictly speaking not shiny as he opted for matte grey and all the family love it.

“There’s so much more space, it’s a fun drive and we even managed to put our personal reg on it too. We installed the Pod Point home charger as well through the scheme so are benefiting from big savings on all of our driving.”

Mark Askey now drives a Jaecoo 5 on Salary Sacrifice

It’s not just Alastair that has been pleased with his vehicle upgrade. Mark Askey is Senior Azure DevOps Engineer at Mortgage Brain.

He says: “Fleet Alliance made getting my new Jaecoo E5 a smooth experience. Their team was quick to respond, genuinely helpful, and offered insightful guidance. Delivery was flexible around my schedule, and the personal handover included a thorough walk-through of the car and its features. I would highly recommend the Fleet Alliance Salary Sacrifice scheme!”

While it’s a Tesla Model Y for Praveen Polkam

Praveen Polkam is delighted with his Tesla Model Y on the Fleet Alliance Salary Sacrifice scheme and says he had a great experience throughout. “The sales process was smooth, and the person helping me guided me at every step. I was very well-informed with constant updates throughout the process, along with clear information regarding delivery.

“Even after the car was delivered, the same person continued to help me with any information I needed. It’s been a couple of months now, and I’ve had no issues with either the car or the service.

“Special thanks to Scott, who has been extremely helpful throughout the whole journey. I’ve already recommended a few others to approach Fleet Alliance – top service all round.”
