Executive Chair Martin Brown was honoured last night by the British Vehicle & Rental Association (BVRLA) at its annual dinner held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London (04 March 2026).
Martin received the coveted Freddie Aldous Outstanding Contribution Award for services to the leasing sector.
The Freddie Aldous award is named after the Association’s Honorary Life President, Freddie Aldous, who passed away in 2017.
Each year it is presented to a person, or persons, who have shown selfless and sustained leadership through the support they have provided to the BVRLA and its work.
Before presenting the award to Martin, the Chief Executive of the BVRLA, Toby Poston, said:
“One part of our community that has grown in its stature, in its credibility, and in its impact over the last decade or so is our leasing brokers.
“Huge strides have been made. The journey has been long and there are scores of individuals who have supported that transition and enabled positive progress to take place. But tonight we want to recognise one that has been there from day one: making the case, bridging the gap, and pulling the sector forwards through their work on our broker committee, as a trusted confidante to BVRLA colleagues, and as a very public representative for the sector.
“If ever there have been occasions in the past where people have questioned the broker sector’s professionalism or willingness to collaborate for the greater good, this is the man we would point to as a positive example: congratulations Martin Brown.”
Martin has served on both the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee and on the BVRLA’s Committee of Management during his time as leader of Fleet Alliance.
Fleet Alliance was founded in 2002 by Allen and Marjory Flynn along with Martin Brown. Since then Fleet Alliance has grown to become one of the most respected leasing broker and fleet management brands in the sector, with a highly regarded management team with strong governance and decarbonisation policies.
In June 2025, Martin Brown successfully led the sale of Fleet Alliance to the Global Vehicle Group to create a powerhouse B2B business with a fleet in excess of 70, 000 vehicles and annual sales of near 18,000 units per annum.
In February 2026, the Global Vehicle Group was named the second largest leasing broker in the Broker News BN25 and awarded Biggest B2B Broker by the industry title.
