Congratulations if you have decided to join your company’s salary sacrifice scheme. Or perhaps you have not quite got that far but are contemplating joining the salary sacrifice scheme.
You will have a wide choice of cars available to you, and you can also choose the colour of the car you want and any options you wish to add, as well.
As you might expect, there are some restrictions on the cars you can choose, but perhaps the most important one is that they must be electric.
Lower cost, zero-emission driving
Electric cars are the most affordable cars on salary sacrifice, and provide a great way to enjoy zero-emission driving at a lower cost than if you were to fund the car from your taxed income.
So that’s the first, and most important thing to note.
Salary grades and vehicle availability
Beyond that your choice of car will be affected by your salary grade and the availability of insurance, which will depend on how old you are and the postcode of where you live.
But don’t worry, there will still be plenty of cars available to you and you can decide on how much or how little you want to pay each month depending on the type of car you want to drive.
Accessing the latest EVs
You can find the cars through the special salary sacrifice portal on the Fleet Alliance e-Fleet platform. This will show the vehicles available to you on the salary sacrifice scheme.
From there you can choose the colour and any options you want to include from the list provided by the manufacturer.
A short-demo of award-winning salary sacrifice and eFleet portal is provided below.
And that’s basically your car choice sorted. Everything else to do with running the car – except for charging it with electricity – is included in the salary sacrifice scheme, from servicing and maintenance to fully comprehensive motor insurance and roadside assistance.
