Fleet Alliance helps EV100 fleet hit 400,000 electric vehicles

Fleet Alliance, along with other members of Climate Group’s EV100, are now running a combined total of more than 400,000 electric vehicles.
It’s a remarkable achievement in a short period of time – just five years since the creation of EV100, a group of progressive companies that are committed to electrifying fleets by 2030.
Among the 127 companies associated with EV100 are Lex Autolease, part of Lloyds Banking Group, AstraZeneca, Novartis and ourselves. Fleet Alliance joined in 2020.
In total, EV100 members increased the number of EVs on the road by a massive 93% in the past 12 months – set against significant car availability issues, according to a newly released Progress and Insights Report.
By 2030, EV100 businesses are on course to collectively transition more than 5.75 million vehicles to electric as part of a commitment to making electric transport the new normal.
Commenting on the figures, Sandra Roling, Director of Transport at the Climate Group, said: “In the fifth year of EV100, it’s fantastic to see how much we have grown together. It’s not just about committing to transition to EVs, it’s making it happen.”
Fleet Alliance has been at the forefront of helping its customers move to zero emissions, assisting companies with advice and consultancy on the transition to EVs on business contract hire, while enabling the wider take up of electric cars through its innovative electric car salary sacrifice scheme.
“We believe strongly in an electric future, and we are enabling that vision with guidance and implementation for our customers,” said Fleet Alliance CEO Andy Bruce.
“Electrification, whether through a traditional company car scheme or by salary sacrifice, is now a crucial part of the ESG business landscape which we are helping facilitate. And as part of EV100, we can help limit global temperature rises to no more than 1.5 degrees if more and more vehicles switch to electric.”
Fleet Alliance is already seeing success with its client decarbonisation strategy: last year, 33% of total orders were for pure electric cars, and a further 33% were for ultra low emission hybrid cars.
“Client electrification has increased dramatically over the last few years as we’ve helped clients appreciate the many benefits associated with zero-emission motoring, and we expect to quicken the pace in 2023 as new car availability begins to ease,” added Andy Bruce.
Fleet Alliance’s own company car fleet began transitioning to electric in 2019 and went fully-EV in mid-2021.
