Fleet Alliance – a top 50 company to work for

There are some certainties in life: Scotland will, oh so nearly qualify for the World Cup – but not quite; England will go out on penalties – of course; and the President of America will continue his foreign policy via social media.

The other certainty is that Fleet Alliance continues to be one of the top places to work in Scotland. I hope!

I’m really pleased to say that we have been voted one of the top 50 places to work for in Scotland 2018.

It’s something we take very seriously at Fleet Alliance – but have much fun doing it. After all, a happy place to work means staff are happy – and happy staff give better customer service.

A fact recognised by the Fleeteye CSI awards which Fleet Alliance has won for three successive years.

Back to best places to work…

The Best Places to Work survey was undertaken by workplace engagement specialists Best Companies – which powers the Best Companies to Work For list published by The Sunday Times.

Employees were asked how they felt about eight aspects of their working lives to determine a Best Companies Index (BCI) score for each organisation – the company’s unique measure of workplace engagement.

For example, in terms of well being, Fleet Alliance is keen to provide a healthy work-life balance and allows one flexible working voucher to be used each month that entitles staff to an early finish, late start or an extended lunch.

Of those that were interviewed, 80% said they were happy with their work-life balance.

But what pleased me most was the response to the question about Fleet Alliance encouraging charitable activities: 98% of the staff agreed.

Since 2008, Fleet Alliance has raised in excess of £410,000 for a number of different charities through a variety of events, including charity dress-down Fridays, Christmas parties and so on.

It all makes for a great working environment. But it’s always great to receive outside recognition that it’s working!
