Footballers Kris Commons and John Gahagan, and Comedian Des Clarke had guests in stitches last night at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel for the Fleet Alliance Sporting Dinner and Fundraiser for Glasgow based charity, A&M Scotland.

Martin Brown, Fleet Alliance Director and the event organiser, was thrilled at the turn out and generosity of his guests. “I am chuffed beyond belief! Our guests have dug deep into their pockets and been incredibly generous to raise funds for A&M. They are a dedicated charity that do a fantastic job creating life chances for so many of Glasgow’s young people in areas of chronic social deprivation.”

400 guests cried with laughter through former Motherwell left winger, John Gahagan after dinner speech, as he made fun of his own career with Motherwell and Greenock Morton.

Kris Commons charmed the audience with stories of his days at Celtic and Brendan Rodgers meticulous management style.

Comedian Des Clark who hosted the event and has supported the charity for a long time, kept the entire event running smoothly whilst mocking his fellow presenters and interviewees.

Paul Mitchell, A&M’s Deputy Chief Executive explained, ”Martin’s support for A&M is so gratefully received and has an immediate positive impact on our young people. We have had the best night and Fleet Alliance’s Sporting Dinner has raised a whopping £18k and everyone has had a right good laugh. We cannot thank Martin enough. As a charity we host and organise many fundraising events ourselves. This event has been a real treat as Martin and his team have done all the hard work for us.”
