My top five fleet cars of 2015

December 2015
It’s time to look back at the best cars of 2015, as we look forward to fresh new metal in 2016.
Anyway, after lots of head scratching (I know, I’m wearing away what’s left!), I’ve managed to nail my list down to the five fleet cars that I reckon you should add to your fleets for a happy 2016 of fun fleet motoring.
1. Audi A4
Okay, it looks a bit too similar to the old one, but the latest A4 is a big step forward in terms of efficiency, refinement, safety and driver appeal. Underpinned by the new Volkswagen Group MQB platform, rear space is more than adequate and the boot is a practical 480 litre boot. Elegant Avant estate is my favourite.
2. MINI Clubman
Always fancied a MINI, but found it too mini for your needs? Well, the new Clubman is the answer. A MINI in name only, despite being a six-door estate, the new Clubman is tasked with gatecrashing the A3 and Golf party. It’s a future fleet star. Despite its maxi dimensions. it still drives like a MINI and offers the same levels of personalisation.
3. Renault Kadjar
2015 was the year Renault finally decided it wanted a slice of the lucrative crossover/SUV market and the Kadjar is the result. If the dimensions look familiar, well that’s because it’s based on the established and well-thought of Nissan Qashqai. Better than the Nissan, the Renault is good to drive, looks sharp and if you go for the smaller wheels, has sub-100 CO2 figures too.
4. Skoda Superb
Skoda’s flagship model added crisp new styling to its proven formula of a spacious interior, massive boot and plenty of safety kit. Lighter and now based on Volkswagen’s MQB modular platform (like the A4), the latest Superb is also longer, wider and taller. Plus, there’s a model built for fleet – the Business SE.
5. Vauxhall Astra
The last Astra was a good, but an unremarkable performer in its class. The latest Astra is, however, a different story: the Astra’s combination of a firm yet comfortable ride, plentiful cabin space, quality, high-tech equipment and neat styling means this Vauxhall can now compete and even win against rivals such as the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.
