New daily rental appointment at Fleet Alliance

Fleet Alliance has appointed experienced daily  rental sales executive Usman Ahmad as product specialist for its daily rental offering,  which has seen sales increase by 150% in the last 12 months as growing numbers of corporate customers select the product to meet short term mobility needs.

Ahmad, 28, who holds a Masters degree in business studies and IT and an MBA, previously worked for Enterprise Rent-a-Car for five years, rising from graduate trainee to branch manager. 

“There is an excellent opportunity to grow our Flexi Hire offering and take it to the next level. Fleet Alliance is a dynamic, young and progressive company and I’m relishing the challenge,” he said.

Fleet Alliance has seen dramatic growth in Flexi Hire in recent months for a number of reasons, including the growing delivery times for new vehicles from all the major motor manufacturers, the provision of interim vehicles for new starters, plus short term contracts and airport hires.

“We believe there is a real growth opportunity  for our Flexi Hire product and so have appointed an experienced specialist in Usman to help grow the product and develop it still further,”  said Fleet Alliance managing director Martin Brown.

“We have seen a huge surge of interest in Flexi Hire this year. There are a number of factors at work here, although one of the more obvious ones is covering the increasingly lengthy delivery times on many of the more popular company cars.

“Lead times have been extending for a variety of reasons, including growth in foreign markets such as China and a general shortage of supply, which has led to delivery periods of two, three or even four months in the case of the most popular vehicles,” he said.

Flexi Hire offers users the choice of a wide range of cars and vans from any location in the country, with  access to over 400,000 vehicles across 1,400 locations, and provides a no turndown guarantee. Fleet Alliance statistics show that the most popular hire is a medium sized 1.6 litre saloon, and it offers unlimited mileage for the first 27 days.

All booking is automatic and online with electronic invoicing to keep the amount of paperwork to an absolute minimum. Online tracking and management allows total transparency in the transaction and there is also the option to offset any rental carbon emissions through a carbon offset scheme.

The Flexi Hire solution can also provide new vehicles for longer term mobility needs of up to 30 months and includes servicing, tyre replacement and breakdown cover within the contract.
